What Does Mercedes’ Level 3 Autonomy, DrivePilot, Offer Owners?

Mercedes-Benz’s driver assistance, DrivePilot, is designed to handle driving functions like speeding and braking — the driver can do other tasks like answering calls and sending text messages. The German company is the first automaker to receive global approval to install Level 3 driver assistance technology in select gasoline and electric cars. Although it’s the first company to receive international approval, Mercedes-Benz isn’t the first to offer its vehicles Level 3 autonomy or “conditionally automated” driving.
