Meta Introduces User Choices in Compliance with EU’s DMA

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is set to offer users in the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland new choices to manage their experiences across its platforms. These choices align with the requirements of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), which is scheduled to take effect in March 2024. Users will soon receive notifications allowing them to decide whether they want to share information between Facebook and Instagram. Options include continuing to connect accounts for integrated use or managing the platforms separately to restrict information sharing.
